The CLARITY Act is a bill that adds more federal regulation, streamlined rules, and oversight for American Crypto Owners and digital assets in general. But Washington has lots of fish to fry and think crypto is too niche to legislate.
But if 1 in 5 Americans are crypto-owners, that makes crypto a primary voting issue. One that landed us with the most bi-partisan, pro-crypto government in history. And Coinbase—being at the forefront of the cryptosphere—decided it was time to take the future into our hands.
So we came out swinging with a 4-month long campaign full of PR-stunts, spots, OOH and print, encouraging lawmakers to do their job and represent their constituents by passing this bi-partisan act.
Our first task: pass it in the House by reminding Congress crypto is the future.
Then it was time to get American voters and crypto-owners to remind their Representatives in the House that crypto is not niche.
In fact, 1 in 5 Americans own Crypto. And 1 in 5 Americans also eat chocolate everyday.
So, if crypto is as commonplace as a chocolate bar, how come chocolate has stricter regulation that the future of money?
So the week of the House vote on the CLARITY Act, we went around DC, passing around chocolate bars filled with crypto facts.
The result? The House voted and passed the CLARITY Act with an overwhelming majority.
Now it was time for the Senate to take it over the finish line.
So we started by testing their eye-sight in a WAPO print ad calling for CLARITY.
And then we took to DC streets once again for one last push, reminding Senators that Crypto needs CLARITY with some freshly brewed ClariTea.
Yes we made ClariTea (since green tea provides clarity) and passed it out to Senators and their staffers with more crypto facts to help them gain some clarity about voting yes on the CLARITY Act. Should we turn this into a drinking game?
